Ads Analytics Engineer

Action Co. is seeking an Analytics Engineer to strengthen and scale AI-enabled analytics applications for enterprise customers.

You will take existing analytics applications and make them faster, more reliable, more maintainable, and easier to extend. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and front-end engineering to deliver production-quality analytics experiences powered by Snowflake and modern AI development tooling.

Responsibilities

Backend Application Engineering

Harden analytics apps into production-ready enterprise software
Improve architecture, maintainability, and code quality
Refactor code into reusable engineering patterns
Design robust, predictable application behavior under failure and edge conditions
Produce maintainable, well-documented, enduring code bases

Reliability and Concurrency

Own the query lifecycle: cancellation of in-flight work, prioritization, and contention control
Design connection and session resilience, including token expiry, reconnection, and state preservation across refresh
Build caching and parallelization strategies at the application tier
Stress-test interactive behavior under rapid user interaction, not just happy-path load

AI-Assisted Engineering

Leverage Claude Code to accelerate software delivery
Build repeatable AI-assisted engineering workflows
Develop reusable prompts, skills, and engineering patterns
Improve engineering productivity through AI tooling

Data Platform and Performance Optimization

Optimize SQL and Snowflake query performance
Design and integrate scalable Snowflake serving structures such as pre-aggregated tables and warm/cold data strategies
Optimize application performance and responsiveness
Build scalable backend services for analytics applications

Must Have

Strong Snowflake development experience
LLM application integration against a governed internal model-agnostic gateway
Excellent SQL performance tuning and query optimization
Backend application engineering
Experience hardening prototype applications into production-quality systems
Claude Code AI-assisted software development experience
Strong Git-based collaborative development experience
Experience building robust error handling and resilient application architectures experience
Strong Python application engineering. Async/concurrent execution, connection lifecycle management, profiling, and optimization of a query-orchestration layer
Interactive-application resilience. Demonstrated experience with concurrent requests, cancellation, connection staleness, and graceful degradation under real user behavior
Snowflake RBAC and row-access policy design, including identity pass-through from a hosting platform to the warehouse
Hosted-deployment migration — taking a locally-run application to a shared hosted environment, including packaging, environment configuration, deployment pipeline, and post-deploy performance verification

Compensation Structure

Employment Type: Part-Time – W2-Hourly: ~20 Hours/Week
W2 Hourly Rate: $105-$120/hour
